Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick - Swatches & a Quick Review

These days I am not at all happy with the the kind of lipsticks I am buying.
I bought Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick and I was hugely disappointed.

Pros:
Feels very soft and highly moisturizing.
Very pigmented.
The texture, smoothness and moisturizing is similar to the lip butter and pigmentation is like a lip color.
The colors are really good.
Does not have a funky smell, has more of a fruity smell.

Cons:
Staying power is like a lip butter as well. Huh!
I thought you know what this can't be right, let me try a lip liner and then apply.
But nope still didn't last for more than an hour.
It washed away even my trusted long lasting lip liner.
If only they could keep the staying power as colorstay line, it would have been awesome.

Would I repurchase? Nope!
Looks like I will have to stay away from lipsticks for a while.
First disappointed with Rimmel and now my favourite drugstore brand Revlon.

I have intentionally posted the below pic to show that the packaging of the lipstick is weird, every time when I try to close it, the cover gets messed because of the lipstick protruding. Hoping my words are making sense.

The Battle of the M's: Maybelline Fit Me Concealer vs MAC Studio Fix Concealer

The Battle of the M's:

The title is pretty self explanatory as to what I am comparing, right?

I know one is in the thin liquid form and the other is a thick in the pot form.

But a concealer is a concealer, it should conceal imperfections, right?

So I compared a popular drugstore brand with a popular non drugstore brand.

Instead of noting down individual reviews, I will straight away go to the comparison:

Maybelline is a liquid consistency in the tube form.
MAC is a thick consistency in the pot form.

Maybelline shade pictured here is Light.
MAC is in the shade NW30.

As you can see I have pretty intense dark circles.

On the left I have used Maybelline Fit Me Concealer and on the right side I have used Mac Studio Finish Concealer.
Not much difference in the coverage.

The Fit Me concealer although the shade says Light, it blended pretty well in my skin tone.
Coverage is medium, but it can be layered without looking cakey.

Studio Finish gives perfect coverage for under eye dark circles.

Brush is required for the both the concealers to blend perfectly.
The wand in the Fit Me concealer is of no use other than applying. For blending, brush it is.

To be in a budget, Maybelline Fit Me is the perfect fit, but it seems that after a while the concealer gets a little dry, because the application is not as smooth as it used to be when it was new. I bought it a month back.

Whereas MAC Studio Finish Concealer never loses its charm. I have been using the same pot since 2 years, still hasn't dried up on me and the application is still smooth. For a review on the same, click here.

The Fit Me concealer lasts me a good 4-5 hours, whereas Studio Finish lasts me entire day approx. 8 hours.

Overall, if you can, buy the MAC one because of the staying power and the coverage that it gives.
If you are in a budget, Maybelline Fit Me will do the job of concealing, but you might end up buying it again after 2-3 months.

Rimmel Showoff - Lip Lacquer/Velvet: Review and Swatches

Hello All,
I finally got my hands on the Rimmel Show Off after seeing rave reviews about the same.
I had to review this because I had a different opinion about this.

The Rimmel website says: Its neither a lipstick nor a gloss. Its bigger than that.

This is actually true to its claim. Pigmentation of a lipstick and shiny like a gloss. Although not at all sticky.

Pros:

Highly pigmented. Actually covered up my pigmented lips pretty decent.
Non patchy.
Very smooth application.
Moisturising, did not dry my lips even after it wore off. Even the matte version is very moisturising.
Price wise very cheap, I mean 5 dollars for a lipstick, bring it on!

Cons:

It didn't even last me 2 hours. It wore off after like one hour, it was as if I had not worn a lipstick at all.
At work, I literally I had to keep this lacquer in my pants pocket so that I could touch up every time I see a mirror. ;-)
Seriously it didn't last me even when I didn't drink or eat anything.

To sum it up:

Although I love the colors, I wouldn't repurchase this product because I do not have the patience to touch up every hour.
Although they don't claim it to be long lasting, 2 hours lasting power is the least expectation, especially from Rimmel since they have been giving us super products.

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm 225 in Sultry - Swatches and Quick Review

Revlon has always given us the best lipsticks, comparable to the expensive brands, for a lower price.

Pros:
It is a smooth, moisturizing, matte lip crayon.
Thick crayon like packaging, doesn't require sharpening.
It looks red on some, pink on some, on me it is more like a marsala kind of color.
Highly pigmented, covers up perfectly even highly pigmented lips like mine, glides smoothly, very moisturising, long lasting.
Stays good for 4 hours, leaves a tint after that.
Doesn't require sharpening, which is the best part.

Cons:
A little bulky kinda packaging.
Can get a little drying once it starts fading.

L'Oreal Colour Riche Fresh as Rose - A Quick Review and Swatch

Hoping the summer comes soon after all the snow and below freezing temperatures.

Fresh as a Rose is a pretty pink shade perfect for summer.

Moisturizing although I am not too impressed with the pigmentation, the lip swatch below is like a 5-6 swipes.

It is pretty sheer for pigmented lips like mine.

Lasting power is average, maybe 1 or 2 hours depending on what you eat or drink.

I like the shade a lot, this is by far the only pink that looks good on me hence use it sometimes, but otherwise I was not too impressed by the lipstick range.
